Sushi in porcelain for your Christmas delight. Made for a Christmas market in 2018. When the christian church needed to overrule the important dates in the pagan calendar, they did not remove the dates but changed them to have a more convenient meaning. So Jesus, whom many believe to have been born in the late summer, came to have his birthday on the most precious pagan high season, the winter solstice. Sushi Xmas is mimicking the christian church by changing the traditional food and decorations with another culture, thereby questioning the traditions we have come to collect over decades of religious suppression and materialism.
